Markanza deals with all areas of family law with a particular emphasis on children’s work.She has extensive experience of both public and private law cases.

Public law:
Within this field Markanza has particular experience of cases involving infant death, rape, sexual abuse, allegations of inter-sibling abuse, complex non-accidental injuries especially head injuries, factitious illness, torture and child cruelty. Markanza represents parents, guardians and local authorities.

Markanza also has experience in adoption, ward ship/inherent jurisdiction and international relocation.

Private law: Markanza acts in all areas of private law including internal relocation, residence, contact, change of name and schooling issues. She is frequently instructed on behalf of guardians in intractable contact disputes.

Within the financial field Markanza deals with Ancillary Relief and Schedule 1 applications.

Markanza is renowned for her detailed preparation of complex and voluminous material. She is often instructed for her particular expertise in cross-examination.

Markanza trains and lectures in all areas of family law. She sits as a Deputy District Judge at the PRFD and as a Recorder (Crime, Private Family and Care).

She is regularly listed in the legal directories as a leading junior.

She is in Band 1 of the latest legal 500.
