Nicholas Anderson was called to the bar in 1995 and has been at 1kbw since completing pupillage in chambers. Nicholas practises in the areas of ancillary relief and children proceedings. Nicholas is recommended in the area of Matrimonial Finance by Chambers and Partners directory.
 
Finance: All aspects of ancillary relief, enforcement proceedings and appeals. Experienced in disputes in relation to cohabitees under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and in applications for financial provision for children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
 
Children: Advising and acting in children proceedings including in the Court of Appeal. Cases include those involving:

• an international element, both in relation to relocation applications and child abduction;
• the sexual abuse of children in a private law context; and
  
• intractable opposition to contact.

Nicholas has a background in public law work and has been involved in cases involving serious physical injury, ritual abuse and the death of a child and has acted for local authorities, parents and Guardians at all levels.
 
ADR: Nicholas is a member of the 1kbw ADR group. He is a qualified mediator and accepts instructions to mediate in cases involving children, finance and cohabitees. Nicholas is also qualified in collaborative law.
